Leading a Single Moms Ministry (Track 2) REGISTER
The Single Moms Ministry Track will be led by Brenda Armstrong who developed this program with the late Larry Burkett, for Crown Financial Ministries. This comprehensive resource provides the basics for helping single parents or anyone else in need and has been used to train over 1,000 leaders across the country. Topics include:

  • How to recognize the unique needs of single parent families. Identifying and developing ministries to meet the top 10 needs.
  • The biblical response to single parent families and how to meet needs effectively.
  • What other ministries are doing to meet needs.
  • A case study of low-income single parent and what is practical for the situation.
  • Tools that can be used to help any family or individual in need.
  • How to build an effective single parent ministry: team building exercises include developing your mission, purpose, and basic direction.

Brenda Armstrong knows firsthand the struggles of low-income and single parent families. After a divorce in 1982, Brenda suffered through several years of low-income jobs, layoffs and welfare before returning to school to begin a career in Christian broadcasting. Because she has “been there,” Brenda passionately speaks, writes, and develops resources to help low income and single parent families be strong through any circumstance.

Participants will learn how to identify the painful emotions that others’ experience and the corresponding truths and Biblical formulas for healing those emotions. We will also learn to apply these objectives within the context of adult relationships as well as parent-child relationships.
